Philippine Shrimp Congress Returns

ABOUT

Finally, the long wait is over! The most awaited event of the year with the theme, “The Philippine Shrimp Industry: Building and Adapting to the Regional Open Market” will take place at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod, Negros Occidental. The 14th Philippine Shrimp Congress will gather various players in the shrimp value chain segments such as input providers, growers, processors, traders and enablers from government and non-government organizations to discuss new ideas on culture methods, open markets, strengthening network mechanisms among stakeholders, and other prospects in sustaining the country’s shrimp industry.

The Philippine Shrimp Congress, a concerted effort of the the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Philippine Shrimp Industry (PHILSHRIMP) Inc., and the Negros Prawn Producers Cooperative (NPPC), is a biennial event that serves as an avenue of “meeting of minds” of both local and international key players in setting the direction towards a more sustainable and globally-competitive shrimp industry.
